Class Information

USCCA Concealed Carry

This class is 5.5 hour United States Concealed Carry for students who are proficient with firearms and have shot in the past. Pre-requisite: Competent in safely handling a firearm.

This class is for 18 yrs and up.

This class will teach: Firearm safety, Range safety, types of firearms, Maine Law for use of force (Your legal rights), situational awareness / avoidance and how to set up a safe residence. As well as instructions on how to apply for your State Permit to Carry. This class has a maximum limit of 14 students and a minimum of 2. If class can not be filled an alternate date will be issued. If you fail to show and do not call within 48 hours you will be charged a $50 fee.

This class includes:

  • Class room time
  • Range time
  • USCCA Certificate

You are required to bring:

  • Pistol / revolver with at least 100 rounds of ammunition
  • Eye and ear protection

Available to rent at Top Gun:

  • Pistol/ revolver @ $20 rental each
  • Buy ammo (if you do not have your own)
  • Eye and hearing protection ($1 each)
USCCA Beginner Pistol

This class includes a 5 hour certified class for students who are new to firearms. There will be 3.5 hours of class room time and will teach: Firearm nomenclature, ammunition nomenclature, how to safely handle a firearm as well as shoot. This class is for persons 12 and up. Under 18 years of age will require parental permission. Maximum classroom size is 8 people with a minimum of 2. If class can not be filled an alternate date will be issued. If you fail to show and do not call within 48 hours you will be charged a $50 fee.

This class includes:

  • Class room time
  • Range Time
  • Certificate for passing

Needed:

  • Handgun, either Semi-auto or revolver (Rentals available $20 ea.)
  • Hearing and eye protection (Rentals available for $1 ea.)
  • 100 rds of Ammunition (If you did not bring your own you may purchase some at TopGun)
Full Auto

This class includes 1 hour of range instruction on your choice of weapons (223, .30, 22, .308, 7.62x39 and .45) as well eye and ear protection. You can purchase ammunition from our shop inventory.

We reserve the right to refuse anyone for any reason. Prior firearms experience is a plus.

This class is available Monday-Friday 9am to 11am and Sunday 9am to 11am.

Barricade Operations

This 2.5 hrs class, 8 am to 10 am, teaches students to think on their feet, to find cover and to engage the attacker from behind cover. Student will also learn how to safely move to and from cover, cover a partner and engage when necessary. Students will need 150 rds of ammo, modern handgun, extra magazines. Holster not needed for this class.

Low Light Operator

This 2.5 hrs class, 8 am to 10 am, teaches student how to use a variety of lighting options to defend themselves. Majority of encounters happen in low light situations and this class will allow students to identify targets in low light, how to engage and defend. Students will need 150 rds of ammo, and a handheld tactical flashlight. A firearm mounted flash light is optional but handheld should also be brought. Holster not needed for this class.

Concealed Holster Work

This 2.5 hrs class, 8 am to 10 am, teaches students how to safely draw from a concealed strong side holster. Muscle memory will be explained as well as the 7 steps to a safe draw. This class will also prepare the student to attend the more advanced 1 day tactical class and 2 day tactical class. Students will need 150 rounds, and strong side holster. Magazine pouch is helpful but not needed.

Long Range Pistol Shooting

This 2.5 hr class, 8 am to 10 am, teaches students to safely engage targets from point blank positions all the way to 100 feet. Students will learn the techniques to work distance shots and gain more confidence. This class does not advocate long range defensive fire but is more for confidence building and enjoying the ability to hit your target at long range. 150 rds needed.

Pistol Move and Shoot

This 2.5 hrs class, 8 am to 10 am, teaches students how to engage targets while moving towards and away. This class will break the habit of students stopping while shooting and allows them to move while engaging multiple targets. Students will need 150 rds for this class.

Tactical Pistol Class

This 6 hr class will involve hot and cold qualifications from 25 yards to point blank contact, barricade use, multiple shooting positions, combat and emergency mag changes, and much more, students will need 250 rounds and will need strong side holster and dual mag pouch. This class may be a one day or 2 or 3 evening class.

Basic Rifle Class

This 3-hour class is a beginner rifle orientation, focusing on the AR-15, AK-47 or Piston operated rifle. This will give beginners a chance to understand the operations, disassembly, cleaning, how to zero and a chance to fire to become comfortable. NRA certified class, includes hard cover book. Students will need 100 rds.

Intermediate Rifle Class

This 3-hour class will teach students who have been through the beginner class new options for their firearm, carry techniques, engagement techniques, and a more aggressive defensive fire position, carry and use. This is an intermediate class, students will need 150 rds of ammo.

Advanced Rifle-Pistol Combination

This 3 hour class will orient the intermediate shooting how to carry and engage both with tactical rifle and tactical handgun and to switch in between. This will help students to get comfortable with the transition from rifle to handgun and visa versa depending on the circumstances. Students will need rifle, tactical sling, handgun, holster and 150 rds for each firearm.

Teacher/School Employee Firearm Orientation and Safety

This 2 hour class if for School employees to recognize, understand and make safe different firearms that may be used during a active shooter situation. We will have handguns, AR-15's, AK-47's, Shotgun, etc. show and tell. This is a no politics, no agenda class, and is a non-firing class. If Students wish to go further in their training, other classes are available.
